Guidance on implementing the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations in England and Wales

The documents here provide guidance to water companies, inset appointees and licensed suppliers on the implementation of:

i) the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016 (S.I. 2016/614)

that apply to water companies whose areas of supply are wholly or mainly in England, and

ii) the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2010 (S.I. 2010/994 (W.99)) and the Water Supply (Water Quality) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 (S.I. 2016/410 (W.128)) that apply to water companies whose areas of supply are wholly or mainly in Wales.

These statutory instruments are known collectively as the Regulations.

In all sections covering individual Regulations, the main paragraph reference numbers relate directly to the relevant English regulation number. Wherever the Welsh Regulation number is different to the equivalent English regulation, the Welsh regulation is referred to alongside in square brackets thus: [ ].
